CodePatch STEM is a student-led organization dedicated to introducing elementary and middle school students to coding, robotics, and creative technology. Our goal is to make computer science accessible, engaging, and fun for younger learners by focusing on hands-on projects and interactive workshops.
The program began with small community workshops hosted at local libraries, including the Northridge and Chatsworth Branch Libraries. Through these sessions, students are introduced to the fundamentals of programming using beginner-friendly tools such as Scratch and Tinkercad. By building simple games, animations, and creative projects, students learn core concepts like problem-solving, logical thinking, and computational creativity.
At CodePatch STEM, we believe that technology should be something students create with, not just consume. Our workshops are designed to give students early exposure to the tools and ideas used in modern technology and engineering while encouraging curiosity and experimentation.
As the program grows, CodePatch STEM aims to expand into additional areas such as robotics, engineering projects, and more advanced creative coding environments. By providing early access to STEM learning opportunities, we hope to inspire students to explore technology and see themselves as future creators, engineers, and innovators.
